Why We Made This:
- Career development theories are foundational in industrial-organizational (I/O) psychology, but their overlapping terminology, concepts, and models can feel confusing. Individuals often find it difficult to see how the theories relate to each other and to real-world career paths. We designed these charts to clarify and organize career theories into a concise, visually appealing format, making it easier to understand and remember.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand and apply major career development theories by Parsons, Holland, Super, Krumboltz, and others.
- Distinguish between identity statuses in Marcia’s theory and explain the stages of career decision-making.
- Recognize how early life experiences, family dynamics, and personal values influence career choices.
