Why We Made This:
- Group therapy, consultation, and prevention are essential in psychological practice, but often feel abstract or difficult to retain. Many struggle with stages of group development, Yalom’s therapeutic factors, and consultation models, especially under pressure. We created clear and engaging charts to condense key concepts in group therapy, consultation frameworks, and prevention strategies for easier understanding and recall.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn the sequential stages of group therapy and understand Yalom’s therapeutic factors that make groups effective.
- Differentiate between consultation models (e.g., client-centered, consultee-centered, program-centered) and know when to use each approach.
- Explore prevention strategies at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, with relatable real-world examples.
- Understand the difference between efficacy (controlled research settings) and effectiveness (real-world applications) and review landmark psychotherapy research studies that shaped the field.
