Why We Made This:
- Motivation is a driving force behind employee engagement, satisfaction, and productivity — but the theories explaining it can feel complex and abstract. Similarly, group dynamics are crucial for workplace success but are often misunderstood or overlooked. We created these charts to break down the most important motivational and group dynamics theories into clear, visually engaging, and relatable examples, so you can see how they work in real-world situations.
Learning Objectives:
- Apply motivation theories such as Expectancy Theory, Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory, and the Theory of Work Adjustment to workplace scenarios.
- Understand the differences between job enlargement and job enrichment, and how each impacts motivation.
- Recognize and explain social dynamics in group settings, including groupthink, social loafing, social facilitation, and inhibition.
- Understand different group task types — additive, disjunctive, conjunctive, and compensatory — and how they affect performance.
