Why We Made This:
- With numerous psychotherapy models and approaches to learn, individuals often feel overwhelmed by differing terminology and techniques. To simplify this, we created visual charts that clearly outline the key principles and interventions of major therapeutic approaches, highlighting their connections, differences, and real-world applications.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the defining principles, goals, and terminology behind core therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, interpersonal, and motivational models.
- Differentiate between specific theories such as psychoanalysis, Gestalt therapy, Adlerian therapy, and existential therapy, understanding their unique perspectives and techniques.
- Understand how to apply interventions — including motivational interviewing, the empty-chair technique, and miracle questions — appropriately within their theoretical contexts.
